Makers at the Mill showcases a changing group of talented artists and designer-makers in an annual exhibition at the atmospheric Gallery at the House Mill in East London.
It’s a curated exhibition, mixing pieces by different makers to complement each other in the space. Inspiration for their work is wide-ranging, yet London and this special location in the east of the city holds a particular fascination for several of our locally-based Makers.
For 2019 we will be showing from Friday 13th to Sunday 22nd September. Open 12.00 – 5.00pm. Late night Thursday 19th 12.00 – 8.00pm. Closed Monday. This year the show will be open to co-incide with Heritage Open Days and Open House 2019.
Why not make a day of it – take a tour of the Grade 1 listed 18th century tidal mill set in a beautiful riverside location in the heart of London’s East End – Note there are separate opening hours for the House Mill & Café .
Enjoy a walk along the picturesque River Lea and take a light lunch at the House Mill Café before visiting the gallery to look at stunning work by local artists and makers. All work is for sale so come prepared to go away with a bargain.
