Celebrate the end of Newham Heritage Week with many of the organisations and individuals involved in making it happen. There will be activities and workshops for all ages, refreshments, exhibitions, information stalls, creative activities, tours of the House Mill and much more. 12pm-3pm
House Mill: Free Guided Tours Visit four of the floors of House Mill with one of the trained volunteer guides. Discover the House Mill’s history and the trust’s plans for its future, which will restore the heritage machinery to working order, develop hydro-electricity production using the wheels and broaden activities to include a vibrant activity hub for Newham. These plans already include an art gallery, event space, and wedding and reception venues, so come and hear more. 11am-4pm (last entry for tours is 3pm)
A Talk on the History of House Mill and Plans for its Future Restoration A talk by a House Mill Trustee to learn about this heritage site dating back to the Domesday Book. Find out about future restoration plans which will see the building once again working to grind grain and to make electricity using the power of the tide. Refreshments will be served.
